The Mystic Island: Siquijor

The Trip to the Mystic Island

We planned this trip unplanned. Yes, you read it right! We intended not to research or ask anyone familiar with the place to guide us and that’s the most interesting part of this trip. We didn’t know where are we going or what lies ahead. “Mabarang” man me or ma “mino” then so be it. But thank God, we’re back to Cebu alive.  Let me enumerate the highlights of this BUHIS BUHAY Adventure Trip.

1. The Ceres Bus took almost 4 hrs of landtravel to Santander. Of course land travel jud kay Ceres Bus man.
2. When we were already aboard the Bangka bound to Sibulan, we were told that the coast guard didn’t allow them to leave the port since the waves in Dumaguete area is too huge for their bangka. So crossing the island is impossible.
3. We transferred to a Fastcraft which is a buhis buhay too.
4. On the jeep from Sibulan to Dumaguete we realized that they have a different way of paying the “pamasahe”. Bayad as you naog.
5. We checked-in at OK pension House. Sa sobrang OK nya naay duha ka OK-OK sa room. I killed one sa CR.
6. We ate Sans Rival’s Sylvanna’s. I almost got frustrated hunting the store but luckily my memory is sharp and I found the store.
7. We were informed by our genius Receptionist that the fastcraft to Siquijor will leave at 6am.
8. We woke up at around 4AM to catch the boat.  When we arrive in the Pier we were shocked that the boat actually leave 9AM pa.
9. We had the most fascinating breakfast —Jollibee Breakfast meals.
10. I started reporting for the new TV series “FastCraft”.
11. We have the most shaky and Buhis Buhay Trip to Siquijor. The girl sitting along with Loraine keep on listening to me and secretly smiled.
12. We arrived in Siquijor Alive!
13. We met Mang IP, the trike driver Slash Tourist Guide.
14. Flabbergasted - is the best word to describe our feeling when we reached the Spring in San Juan, Siquijor. Due to its location.
15. Loraine had difficulty climbing the tower to see the Crocodile View of the island.
16. We saw a huge fruit like that of Boongon.
17. 3 of us were dropped dead tired climbing back to our ride from the waterfalls.
18. The tindera didn’t gave mercy a discount of the items she bought.
19. We went to the resort wherein they have a delivery charge of 30 from their kitchen to our cottage. So we opted to bring the foods ourselves.
20. The boat arrive almost 1 hr late.
21. It was a total blackout and the place was soo dark which made the trip more memorable.
22. We arrive in Cebu Alive and hungry.
23. Repeat Review Item #9.
